Marie began riding in 1980, qualifying for pony finals in 1983. In 1987 her family moved to Birmingham, AL., where Marie rode with former Olympian Dennis Murphy for the next five years. Immediately after college Marie began professionally riding and teaching lessons. In 1994 Hunters Lane Stables was established. Marie is currently the Vice President of the Greater Arkansas Hunter Jumper Association and has served on the board since 1998. Marie has also served on the G.A.H.J.A. Show Committee since 1996 and was the Show Committee Chairman for four of those years. Hunters Lane Stables has been not only dominate in our local association but has been one of the few to show competitively in Zone 7. We have had many people from Hunters Lane compete at Zone 7 finals. Zone 7 consists of six states: Arkansas, Texas, Kansas, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Missouri. Marie teaches every level of rider from age 6 to 50+. |
